As I warned my mailing list readers, due to contractual and other reasons, all four of my 2023 books came out in the year’s last quarter! That was crazy, and I hope that never happens again.
The Clandestine Countess debuted October 13 and continued my series of action and adventure heroines in the Regency, with a surprising best-friends-to-enemies-to-lovers story that I think fans of the The Caped Countess will love. Dan comes back and we find out what girl he’s been pining after all these years, and get a step closer to justice for the dastardly Lady Winpole.
The novella “His Unlaced Love” came out October 17 in the anthology Lords and Lace, from Penford Press, and I hope my readers enjoy this mini-sequel to The Clandestine Countess! It’s a wild Christmas party and two childhood friends who have not seen each other for a long, long time.
Then my new series, Maids Done Waiting, debuted on December 1 with The Lord Trap. It revisits some characters we met in passing before: Lady Viola from What a Duchess Does and Bradley Waite, whom we met in The Countess Invention, her brother Oliver’s best friend. But it’s a whole new series with a whole new focus, very London, very drawing room, very emotional. I hope you love it.
And in the nick of time, on December 23, Season 2 of Ladies’ Own Bakery came out as a collected edition! It’s in all major bookstores, and will soon be out in paperback as well. This Regency romance comedy serial is a labor of love for me, deeply researched and wide-ranging. In fact, fans will giggle over a little crossover between this series and The Lord Trap!
It was a crazy year and I can’t thank you all enough for sticking with me through it, and I have big, big plans for 2024 – can’t wait to see you there!
